Joe B. Hall has sure been getting a lot of attention from this site and the UK fanbase over the last couple days. Hell, Hall is just 82 years old. Let's give some props to John Mauer, former UK coach right before Adolph Rupp, who turns 110 in early September. I think we can all agree that Mauer, in his 3 seasons, set the program up for its success under Rupp. I mean, just look at that picture above. Mauer was an elite basketball player/coach, despite wearing a 3-piece suit. So sure, maybe Hall gets the attention last week, but this week I honor the great-grandfather of UK basketball, John Mauer.
