Suspended Missouri guard facing more allegations

Kentucky plays Missouri in Columbia on Saturday, but based on this news, it appears the Tigers will once again be without junior guard Terrence Phillips.
Phillips was suspended indefinitely on Friday after a student filed a complaint against him for physical abuse. Since then, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, three more women have stepped forward to file complaints of harassment, physical abuse, and nonconsensual recording of a sexual encounter. Missouri’s Title IX office is now investigating the allegations.
Phillips’ production this season has taken a sharp downturn. Last year, he started 23 games, averaging 10.4 points in 28.3 minutes; this year, he’s averaging only 2.5 points and 10.6 minutes per game. That being said, his absence makes a thin Missouri backcourt even thinner. Right now, the Tigers are down to eight scholarship players plus walk-on guard Brett Rau. They got a much-needed win at Alabama last night, but they’re still very turnover prone, averaging 19.3 turnovers in the last three games. Kentucky needs to capitalize on that on Saturday.
