No, Tai wasn't ingesting a thoroughbred from Kentucky's bluegrass, it was a part of his experience with New Zealand's three-on-three basketball team.  The summer FIBA tournament took place in Kazakhstan.  He enjoyed the people and the basketball, but trying a bite of horse made his trip a unique one. "It was different.  They actually eat horse and stuff.  I had to try a bit of horse.  I was like ugh," he said with a disgusted look on his face.  "It was kind of weird.  They made me taste it.  It was like their tradition and stuff so I had some.  It was pretty good." It was a treat to talk to Tai, who was a bit of a mystery man after arriving midway through the season, only to spend it on the bench as a redshirt.  He hated the waiting as much as those who called in to radio shows asking about him.  Wynyrd is excited to start the season but he might have to wait even longer to play. Notice something different about the left side of his face? tai-face Tai took an elbow in practice and fractured a bone in his face.  He wasn't supposed to let the nature of the injury slip, so we don't know how long he could be out or what exactly happened.  He may even be able to play with a mask, but for now we must continue to do what we did all last year: wait.
