Team USA MBB defeats Czech Republic, moves on to Tokyo 2020 quarterfinals

[caption id="attachment_361330" align="alignnone" width="679"] @USABasketball[/caption] The U.S. Olympic Men’s Basketball Team is quickly finding its groove in Tokyo, taking home a 119-84 blowout victory over Czech Republic to guarantee a spot in the Knockout Stage. Jayson Tatum led the way with 27 points on 10-16 shooting and 5-10 from three to go with two rebounds, two blocks and one assist in 24 minutes of action. Kevin Durant also added 23 points on 8-11 shooting and 4-7 from three to go with eight rebounds, six assists and one block, breaking the all-time Olympic scoring record in the process. Zach Lavine (13 points), Jrue Holiday (11 points) and Javale McGee (10 points) rounded out double-digit scorers. https://twitter.com/usabasketball/status/1421449917361393685?s=20 As for the participating former Kentucky Wildcats, Bam Adebayo finished with six points on 3-4 shooting to go with three rebounds, one assist and one steal in 21 minutes, while Devin Booker added five points on 1-3 shooting and 1-2 from three to go with one rebound, one block, three turnovers and five fouls in ten minutes. Keldon Johnson played just four minutes and grabbed one rebound. With the victory, Team USA advances to the quarterfinals, which begin Monday, August 2. Sitting at 2-1 in Preliminary Round action - the team suffered an opening-round loss to France, but bounced back against Iran in game two - USA will have to wait until group play concludes on Sunday to find out its next opponent. Three more wins to bring home gold.
