The All-Calipari Team

by:Rashawn Franklin04/09/12
With Calipari finally getting his elusive national championship its time for fans of the accomplished coach to look back and reflect upon his esteemed career. He's had twenty years as a head coach in the college basketball world. In those two decades, Cal's had numerous collegiate All-Americans, first-round NBA draft picks, and NBA All-stars at his disposal. It got me thinking that if you composed a starting five of the best players that have played under Cal you'd have one sick college team. Here's a list of Cal's players from his UMass, Memphis, and Kentucky days: Guards: Eric Bledsoe, Kentucky; Antonio Burks, Memphis; Chris Douglas-Roberts, Memphis; Tyreke Evans, Memphis; Brandon Knight, Kentucky; Doron Lamb, Kentucky; DeAndre Liggins, Kentucky; Derrick Rose, Memphis; Marquis Teague, Kentucky; Dajuan Wagner, Memphis; John Wall, Kentucky Forwards: Rodney Carney, Memphis; Robert Dozier, Memphis; Terrence Jones, Kentucky; Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Kentucky; Darius Miller, Kentucky; Patrick Patterson, Kentucky; Lou Roe, UMass; Shawne Williams, Memphis Centers: Earl Barron, Memphis; Marcus Camby, UMass; DeMarcus Cousins, Kentucky; Anthony Davis, Kentucky; Josh Harrellson, Kentucky; Enes Kanter, Kentucky; Daniel Orton, Kentucky Okay, now let's make an All-Calipari Team. Here's mine: C, DeMarcus Cousins PF, Anthony Davis SF, Terrence Jones SG, DeAndre Liggins PG, Derrick Rose Sixth-man: Shawne Williams I listed every guy that Cal has had that will be in the NBA or has played in the NBA, if there's somebody you want to pick that isn't listed go ahead. Pick a sixth man too, because five is really hard to do. I tried not to be so Kentucky biased, but yeah, it happened. I'll take DeAndre as my two because he can guard the other teams best wing player and the other guys would be able to do all the scoring. What say you? What's a good starting five, plus a six man? GO!
