The Big Blue Road Trip: Findlay, Ohio
I had never heard of Findlay, Ohio before we decided to meet up with their UK Alumni Club and was pleasantly surprised by the number of UK fans in the area. The city is located about an hour south of Toledo and surrounded by farms and small towns.
The alumni club there meets at the local Buffalo Wild Wings (which Siri has a little bit of trouble finding) for watch parties. We filled up eight or nine tables and had around twenty-five people come hang out with us.
The club’s members are not all from Findlay. A lot of them live in small towns surrounding Findlay and drive in, a drive that is sometimes more than an hour, for the watch parties. Most of these watch parties are on the weekend, although they did make an exception for the EKU game.
The longer that we are on this trip, the more we realize that Big Blue Nation really is everywhere, even small town Ohio. If you are in the Findlay area or just happen to be passing by on a game day, stop by Buffalo Wild Wings to catch the game.
