The end of negative toxicity's morning wake up post

After beating Vanderbilt, Kentucky will head into its bye week with high hopes and intact bowl dreams. This was an ugly game–I mean, check out the box score. I'm not sure that I'd have believed someone if they came up to me before that game and said "We're gonna win, but throw for less than 50 yards," but, by God, we did. Crucial to the W was a supremely stout defensive effort. As Tyler pointed out earlierthe defense held the Commodores to 3-of-12 on third down, the driving engine for what ended up being the most pivotal win of the season. And when we did win, we got the briefest of glimpses of giddy school girl Stoops. This is possibly my favorite of the Big Blue head honcho's may forms: [embed]https://vine.co/v/5gtZigxtVbg[/embed]

Stoops Quotes

From Nick's post earlier:
“I grabbed them up, I wanted to see the whites of their eyes, and I told them to stay the course.”  Stoops told them, “Every son of a gun outside of this room right here will be attacking you and me.  So put your head down, do your job, and go to work.  Because there’s nowhere to run and there’s nowhere to hide.  You either man up and get better or you cave.” “It’s very hard to get something turned when it’s toxic and negative,” he said.  “Coaches deserve to be criticized. That’s our job, it’s part of our job, but the players and getting toxic and negative and all that…that’s not going to help get this program to where we want it to go. I promise you.”
Getting toxic never helps. Keep that in mind, guys.

That dropped pass by Vandy was crucial

When Vandy QB Shurmur almost connected with his TE in the end zone to tie it up with 12 seconds to go in the game, I may have almost peed myself. Luckily for the BBN and my pride, he didn't.

Basketball's live practice/pre-season combine airs 7-9 p.m. on ESPNU

Maybe you remember the headlines: "Coach K holding first NBA practices for Duke in October" Wow, coach! Great, super, innovative, original idea! Only wait... Calipari's been doing that for a while. Anyway's watch your Cats go to work at 7 tonight. They'll be good... real good. It should be a nice, peaceful display of talent before the world explodes at the debate tonight at 8:30. Happy post-win day BBN. Kick back and relax. Soak this one up.
