As always, each week KSR’s Funkhouser collects the best of pop culture. And as always, The Entertation Index collects the best of the week for your consumption.

Bros., Coen — Good news for people who love the Coen Brothers (me included); the minds behind The Big Lebowski, Raising Arizona, No Country for Old Men and other classics will be taking their writing and directing sensibilities to a Netflix anthology series about the Old West. This great news can only mean a cast of diverse characters is on the way including the quirky blacksmith, the quirky gunslinger, the quirky apothecarian, the quirky brothel madame and the quirky sheriff, among others.

Burton, LeVar — Buffalo, New York public broadcasting station WNED, which once produced LeVar Burton’s Reading Rainbow series, has filed suit against the show’s former host for using the catchphrase “You don’t have to take my word for it” in his new podcast LeVar Burton Reads, proving once again that if for anything nice and good in the world there’s someone who’ll try to find a way to make it go away because they’re not making enough money from it. But you don’t have to take my word for it. (PLEASE DON’T SUE ME.)

Campbell, Glen — Yesterday saw country singer and American songwriting legend Glen Campbell sadly passed away on Tuesday following a long battle with Alzheimers. In honor of the Campbell’s classic-filled career I’d like to suggest we all listen to “Wichita Lineman” today and excuse me I have something in my eye.

Cyrus, Billy Ray — The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame announced its 2018 class on Wednesday, with “Achy Breaky Heart” singer Billy Ray Cyrus at the head of the list. “We’d like to recognize Mr. Cyrus for his achievements in songwriting and performing,” said a spokesperson for the Hall of Fame, “and humbly hope that with this induction Mr. Cyrus will stop calling us.”

Gallagher, Liam — We all know that former Oasis co-founder Liam Gallagher, is, like, a super nice guy, so I’m sure it will really shock you to read the following ranked list of things Liam Gallagher has crapped on, which include his brother, of course, but also cars and the ocean. Great dude, that dude.

Letterman, David — Rejoice, rejoice; David Letterman is returning to us. The former Late Show host has inked a deal with Netflix to do a six-episode series of long form segments, in-depth interviews and field pieces. He’s even talking with Paul Schaeffer to be involved in some way. He also, it should be noted, closes the following Entertainment Weekly piece in classic Letterman fashion, noting “We’re negotiating with the beard right now.

Thrones, Game of — Leave it to a bunch of Redditors to exaggerate the latest bizarre Game of Thrones theory — that during the Arya/Brienne duel on Sunday the ghost of Catelyn Stark was seen crossing through a doorway in the background. It could be real, or it could be a bizarre coincidence, but either way, if it’s something you want to spend 35 minutes telling me about at a party I’d thank you to leave me alone.
