The number one ranked Valparaiso Crusaders will tip off tonight against the third ranked Wright State Raiders tonight at 9PM on ESPN. The Horizon Conference, which consists of nine teams, is made up of colleges that are in the Midwestern region of 'Merica. The league was established in 1979, and uses the slogan "Raise Your Sights." The league has had a team advance to the NCAA tourney 11 of the past 14 years, which is the best of any non-BCS conference. Colleges who have left the conference and gone on to bigger and better things include Butler, Notre Dame, and Marquette.

David Ruprecht went to Valpo.. Host of Supermarket Sweep.. I loved that show

The Crusaders, who are lead by Coach Bryce Drew and forward Ryan Broekhoff, have had a 25-7 season, and look to secure their spot in the National Championship tournament for the first time since 2004. Coach Bryce Drew replaced his father as head coach in 2011, Homer Bryce, who had been the head coach since 1988 until he retired. Awww. They made it to the third round of the tournament only once (which was their furthest run in the tourney), when in 1998 they defeated Mississippi in the first round and Florida State in the second round before falling to Rhode Island in the sweet 16. Valpo beat Wright State in the regular season by 13 points, and will look to defeat Rtan Broekhoff and team again tonight.

Lead singer of PCD, Nicole Scherzinger, went to Wright State... Ruprecht is hotter...

The Wright State Raiders are lead by Head Coach Billy Donlon (lolz). In their most recent victory over Detroit, the Raiders were lead by Miles Dixon, who scored 14 points and went 6-8 from the floor. The Raiders also found some rhythm in forward Jerran Young, who scored 12 points and grabbed 6 boards in the process. Wright State joined the Horizon League in 2002. They have made two appearances in the NCAA tourney and never made it past the first round. The Raiders play their home games at the Nutter, AKA the NUTT HOUSE. They will look to make it to the big dance tonight for their first time under Coach Donlon.
