With a late push in weekend voting, Wayne Chism spoiled the potential Coach vs. Coach matchup, sending Billy Donovan to...well he's not sure yet...but Chism and coach Bruce Pearl will square off in round two. Tomorrow we start local media week. The bracket adjustments will take place in the national media/coaches bracket next week, where we'll be sending Eddie Sutton and Dale Brown back to the old folks' home and replacing them with Seth Davis and Dick Vitale. Now, onto your featured comment from the Donovan-Chism battle. Again, an excerpt: from HanOfTheBluegrass: Chism just doesn’t know how to wear a headband. The look on his face when Meeks was on his way to 54 makes him too pitiful to hate. I'll admit, the only reason I chose that one was so I could look at this picture again. Now for the thrilling conclusion of the UT/UF bracket. (4) Ron Slay - Today, we review two originals. Ron Slay was beating chests before beating chests was beating chests. Ron Slay (and some of his contemporaries at UT) was rocking headbands before headbands were headbands. Actually, headbands were headbands in the 70s, so Ron Slay was wearing headbands after headbands were headbands but before headbands were headbands. Get that? Either way, Slay was everything we loathe about today's Vols, only without the success. He was a talented player that never shut up and never won anything. Maybe a few more wins or a few less chest beatings would have led me to respect him a little more, and hate him a little less. Alas, he could produce neither of those things and now finds himself here with us. (5) Matt Walsh - "Walsh is (a word I'm not going to use because it may offend people and that's not really what I'm going for, unless we're talking about the people in the tournament because that's the whole point). Clap, clap, clap clap clap! Walsh is (see above) Clap, clap, clap clap clap!" Seriously, though. Walsh is the amalgamation of the evil basketball player. Extremely ugly, extremely chirpy and brash, and pretty good to boot. He even tutored Joakim Noah and the boys for a season on how to make sure everyone hates you. Apparently they missed the lessons, because they went with the "win two titles" approach as opposed to the "have floppy hair and a bad attitude" strategy. Actually, come to think of it, I think Noah was listening. Now, I know you all have some things to say about Matt Walsh, so get at him in the comments and don't forget to vote to the right.
