The KSR Road Trip We Never Imagined

by:Matt Jones02/11/10
moemtn As of tonight, I get to make a mark in the "blog posts I never thought I would ever write" category. Two days ago, CBSSports.com hired the KSR crew to write a College Basketball Road trip piece for their website. Beginning next Thursday, Drew Franklin, Beisner, Tomlin, Hubby and I will get in a car in Lexington and drive for the next ten days taking a tour around the college basketball world. We will see 9 games in ten days and produce a blog about our trip for CBS Sportsline. We are beyond excited and have been spending the week trying to make preparations for the trip. Our schedule will look like this: Thursday --- Wisconsin vs Minnesota Friday --- Old Dominion vs Northern Iowa Saturday --- Siena vs Butler Sunday --- Ohio State vs Michigan State Monday --- Oklahoma vs Kansas Tuesday --- Travel Day Wednesday --- Florida State vs UNC Thursday --- Murray State vs Morehead State Friday --- Princeton vs Cornell Saturday --- Villanova vs Syracuse Sunday --- Duke vs Virginia As you can see, it is an ambitious trip that will involve a lot of driving and a lot of blogging. At each stop, we will cover the games and bring the KSR world to the national landscape on CBSSports.com. Every game will bring a different role for the group, from sitting on press row to getting painted in a student section. We will document the proceedings on the blog and hopefully produce an entertaining look at college basketball for the world to see. As you might imagine, we are unbelievably nervous. All we have been told is get a rental car, cheap hotels and do your thing. That could be dangerous. But we are excited about the possibilities and are ready to go on an adventure that we would have never believed was possible. We will still drop by KSR during the trip for "non-national" anecdotes and will use this as the "behind the scenes" version of our activities. We are going to be shooting video, taking pictures and generally being as creative as possible, but any suggestions that people have for what to do are welcome. We will say hi to Tubby and Mark Coury for you and work hard to represent the Big Blue Nation to the best of our abilities. The site here will run the same as always while we are gone and when we combine back, it will be time to prepare for #8. CBS Sports...Gregg Doyel, Gary Parrish, Seth Davis, Billy Packer, Clark Kellogg...and Drew Franklin. Aint life strange...
