The Nuge's Saturday Morning Hot Links

by:Thomas Beisner12/13/08
The face of a man who believes in self-protection and venison for dinner. Good morning everyone!  I hope you're all ready for a beautiful weekend filled with holiday shopping, Kentucky basketball, Ted Nugent's 60th birthday and the opening of Tampa Bay Downs.  Just me?  Well, have a good weekend nonetheless.   As you get yourself all geared up for the Cats and  IU today, here are a couple of stories of interest that don't compare the current IU squad to the Unforgettables (there are about 1 million). The Herald-Leader informs us that there was no basketball practice on Monday or Tuesday.  WFT!?!?  No practice?!?!!  OMFG!?!?!?  Oh wait....is everyone over that now?  Ok.  We'll move on. Even with the current state of each team, the fans are fired up for this rivalry game. Gillispie and his boys aren't taking the Hoosiers lightly despite their record. Former UK commit and current Georgia Tech commit David Sims comments on his change of heart by saying that at UK he "didn't feel like the things going on were the best situation" for him.  Not sure what that means. Lots of action last night and today on the Ky. HS football scene.  And, because I'm a company man, I'll let you know that Bell County is, according to my sources, going to beat down Bullit East. If you're a UK student, it looks like you're back to smoking in the boys room after the school decided to ban smoking on outdoor property as well.   Enjoy your Saturday, folks.  Go make Uncle Ted proud.
