And they're goin' gorillas... -- We'll lead off with some good news for Kentucky basketball fans regarding Saturday's game against Chattanooga. The game was originally scheduled to air exclusively on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast but the company that gave you great things like Pure Politics and Radio Ron swooped in to save its customers from watching the Cats on tape delay. Insight announced that it will air the Kentucky-Chattanooga game live on channel 505. Insight made the deal to keep you, the customer, happy. Remember that next time you write a letter to the network complaining about the mustard stain on Matt's jacket and the lack of Mark Krebs on KSTV. -- There is one person out there who has watched every Kentucky basketball game this season, regardless of the TV rights, and he's ready to move on from viewer to player. That person is Twany Beckham and he will be making his Kentucky debut on Saturday. Ask anyone around Big Blue Nation about Beckham and you'll get a different answer. Some expect him to be the most athletic member of the mop-up crew; some think he'll be the backup behind Teague for about 5-10 minutes a game; and some think he's the second coming of (insert great Kentucky basketball player). The truth is, no one knows how Twany will play and where he'll fit in the rotation, but I'll advise you to not expect too much. Coach Cal will give him plenty of opportunities to get familiar with the game in this last round of "tune-ups" and then I think he'll be good for five minutes per game (at the most) in real action this season as a third option at point guard. He showed us some good stuff in the Blue/White game and at Big Blue Madness, but those are completely different situations than SEC play. With that being said, I would love for him to prove me wrong and be a solid contributor. The size and athleticism is certainly there. -- We have a couple more days to get in-depth with our Chattanooga previews but I would like to go ahead and point out to you that the Mocs aren't very good. I say that with love. John Shulman's boys are 3-7 on the season with losses to Indiana (hey, us too!), Butler, Kinnesaw State, Georgia Southern, Charleston, Mercer, and Gardner-Webb. Their wins came over Savannah State, Spalding, and some guy named Warren Wilson. I'm only telling you this as a warning about how ugly it'll get in Rupp Arena on Saturday night. The Cats, specifically Terrence Jones, have some anger to let out. -- Don't forget that it's a late start Saturday. Kentucky and Chattanooga will tip-off in a rare 8:00 p.m. Saturday night game. Wear your going out clothes to the game and throw the babysitter an extra $20 for this one. -- Stop me if you've heard this one: Danny Trevathan received some postseason recognition. Trevathan and three other Wildcats were named All-SEC performers by Phil Steele's College Football on Wednesday. UK's tenth all-time leading tackler was named to Steele's SEC first team and he was joined by teammates Winston Guy (second team), Larry Wardford (second team), and Ryan Tydlacka (third team) on the all-conference list. Phil Steele also named Trevathan fourth team All-American. They just keep coming for Trevathan, who 'put the team on his back' this season. "Hold muh..." -- Speaking of putting a team on his back, Alex Poythress is averaging over 30 points, 16 rebounds, and five blocks for his undefeated Northwest High School in Clarksville. Keep it up, young fella. -- A source close to ZagsBlog believes that Jarnell Stokes will end up at Tennessee next semester. The power forward from Memphis is enrolling in college early and he lists Kentucky, Memphis, Tennessee, Arkansas, UConn and Florida as potential destinations. Kentucky and Memphis don't have mid-year scholarships available so it'll be tough for one of those two to land him because he'll have to pay his own way. (Before you ask, Stacey Poole's scholarship still counts.) If Stokes is still leaning Tennessee tomorrow, then he clearly didn't watch the Vols lose to the College of Charleston on ESPN Wednesday night. Tennessee is garbage. -- The Detroit News says the Pistons staff is "transfixed" by Brandon Knight's endurance and work ethic. "He's shown the ability to make plays," Pistons head coach Lawrence Frank said. "The guys have really taken to him because he's hungry, thirsty." Knight will have the opportunity to show it on the court this Friday in Detroit's first preseason game against Cleveland. -- The Hornets finally agreed on a deal to ship Chris Paul to a major market. New Orleans gave up Chris Paul and two draft picks to the Clippers for Eric Gordon, Al-Farouq Aminu, Chris Kaman and a 2012 draft pick. That puts Eric Bledsoe on a roster with one of the three best point guards in the league (if 100%) and Chauncey Billups, who the Clips picked up earlier this week. With the two new big names on the roster, expect Bledsoe to either be a full-time shooting guard or part of another trade coming soon. I think he has too much potential at the point to waste at the two-spot or as a third option behind Paul and Billups.
