The Year of the Cardinal Continues
With a 2-1 over the #2 Vanderbilt Commodores this evening, the Louisville Cardinals have continued UL's streak of athletic excellence this year and advanced to the College World Series. The feat makes Louisville the first school ever to win a national title in basketball, a BCS bowl game, and make the College World Series in the same year- not to mention their women's basketball team's runner-up finish in the national tournament and the men's soccer team making the Elite Eight. It will be only the second trip ever to the CWS for the Cards, with the first taking place in 2007, and the Cards will open up the series with none other than the Indiana Hoosiers.
There's no getting around it; this year's Cardinal athletic teams are "getting it in" as the kids say. But you know what? Those baseball uniforms are still absolutely hideous.
