Marshall County has a soft spot in our hearts here at KSR, which makes this morning’s news even more upsetting. According to authorities, at least five students were shot and one person is dead after a school shooting at Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky. Governor Bevin confirmed the shooter is in custody.

A lot of our readers are from the Marshall County area, so we encourage you to follow The Marshall County Tribune-Courier on Facebook for updates. They are reporting that the school remains on lockdown and two Air Evac helicopters landed to take victims to the hospital.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. What a horrible, senseless act.
