This Has To Stop

I’m not exactly sure who to blame for the phenomenon of coaches wearing blazers in an objectionable school color when a big game comes around.  I first remember it happening with Bruce Weber in the 2005 National Championship.  Weber sported a garish orange blazer.  He could have worn a navy blazer, seeing how navy’s one of Illinois’ colors.  Nope, he went for what hurt my eyes.   Bruce Pearl runs a similar trick.  I must be fair, though.  I just hate Volunteer Orange.

Last night, Oliver Purnell broke out his coat.  A couple of planes also tried to land on the court at Littlejohn.

There’s got to be a better way.  There just has to be.  Can’t you just say “it’s a big game” without wearing something you wouldn’t put on otherwise.  Ugh.
