[caption id="attachment_204578" align="aligncenter" width="600"](@JHNNsports) (@JHNNsports)[/caption] Tim Tebow has made news in recent days by announcing his plans to attempt a professional baseball career. Everyone in baseball seems to have an opinion on Tebow's baseball skills because of Tebow's celebrity. It may be a long shot for him to get a chance in the big leagues considering he hasn't played competitive baseball since his junior year of high school but if anyone can do it, it's Tebow. Lets wish the former Heisman trophy winner a happy birthday as he turns 28 today. Kentucky football had their first scrimmage of fall camp yesterday The first scrimmage of fall camp was closed to the public but Mark Stoops, Eddie Gran, DJ Eliot, Courtney Love, and Drew Barker spoke with the media afterwards. Both Stoops and Gran were pleased with Barker's decision-making especially on third and fourth down situations. Barker showed poise leading the offense to a touchdown on a 3rd-and-goal pass to junior receiver Jeff Badet with 16 seconds left. Dorian Baker and Ryan Timmons also had impressive days, finishing the day with zero drops each. Fan favorite Wide Receiver Coach Lamar Thomas sums up the offenses day: https://twitter.com/LamarCoachT/status/764564214090432512 It wasn't all good news on Saturday, Coach Stoops announced that starting safety Darius West has suffered a season-ending knee injury. Elliot feels for West but still believes he has a bright future. Both Eliot and Love emphasized tackling as something the entire defense needs to improve on, but Love believes the teams chemistry is great. Stoops was not pleased with the linebackers but sees the scrimmage as something to build on. If you want more from Saturday's scrimmage, check out Jack's full rundown here. Micheal Phelps wins gold in 4x100m Medley Relay https://twitter.com/SportsCenter/status/764646375346802688 Phelps ended his Olympic career by gaining his 23rd gold medal overall and 5th in the Rio games. Phelps put the United States ahead while teammate Nathan Adrian completed the relay to win gold. Phelps became emotional after his last Olympic swim, hugging his teammates after the victory. Congrats to a legend on a historic career! NFL Cats were in action last night Former Cats Jordan Swindle and Josh Forrest played in the Rams first preseason game since their move to Los Angeles in front of a record crowd of 89,140.  Forrest had two solo tackles in the Rams 28-24 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Avery Williamson led the Titans defense with 5 solo tackles in a 27-10 win over the San Diego Chargers. Williamson is quickly becoming one of the best linebackers in the NFL, with the help of Wesley Woodyard the Titans will have an improved run defense. The Titans also added two workhorse running backs in Demarco Murray and Derrick Henry, the Titans are hoping their offseason additions will equal better results than their 3-13 record of last season. The Indianapolis Colts defeated the Buffalo Bills in a close 19-18 game. Former Cat Ricky Lumpkin had two solo tackles in the victory but he also experienced something new on Saturday night. https://twitter.com/RickyLumpkin/status/764662867165675520 Colts Safety Winston Guy Jr. did not play in the Colts first preseason game as he is taking time away from the team after the passing of his mother. Let's all send our prayers to Winston and the rest of his family during this tough time. Boogie Cousins and USA Basketball return to action this afternoon The USA survived a scare Friday night by holding off Serbia in a close 94-91 game. Boogie had a relatively quite night with 5 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds, lets hope he can improve on that today against France. Tony Parker and Boris Diaw will lead France against the United States at 1:15 ET, as Boogie will face off against Utah Jazz Center Rudy Gobert. Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday and Go Cats!
