Rise and shine, BBN! Friday is finally here, which means we’re just a few short hours away from the weekend (much-needed for me, personally) being here.

Let’s get the day started right with the biggest news and headlines…

Kentucky WBB knocks off No. 13 South Carolina

For the first time in the careers of Kentucky senior stars Maci Morris and Taylor Murray, the UK Hoops squad managed to take down South Carolina by a final score of 65-57.

The Cats were led once again by freshman superstar Rhyne Howard and guard Taylor Murray, with each scoring 17 points in the victory. After starting the game 0-8, Morris also still managed to finish the evening with 12 points.

With the win, Kentucky (22-5) has now won five games in a row, all while snapping the Gamecocks’ seven-game winning streak in the SEC.

The Cats will take on the LSU Tigers this Sunday, Feb. 24, for Senior Day at Memorial Coliseum. You can check them out on SEC Network+ at 2:00 p.m.

“The Journey” is back

Another win for the Kentucky men’s basketball team means yet another chapter of “The Journey” for our viewing pleasure.

And once again, the video crew at UK Athletics put on a show.

Take a look at Chapter 26, where we get an inside look at Kentucky’s victory over Missouri on the road on Tuesday:

Coach Cal checks out KSBar and Grille

Last night, Kentucky head coach John Calipari and his wife, Ellen, made a pit stop at our very own KSBar and Grille for dinner.

After the meal, one of the restaurant’s servers wanted to make sure she got a picture with the real star of the show… Ellen.

Any guesses on what they ordered? Coach Cal seems like a smoked brisket kind of guy.

Blue-White Game confirmed for April 12

The date for Kentucky football’s annual Blue-White scrimmage has officially been confirmed.

The Wildcats will kick off at Kroger Field on Friday, April 12 at 6:00 p.m. ET. Tickets to the game will be available to season ticket holders on Tuesday, Feb. 26 and to the general public on Tuesday, March 5 at 9 a.m.

2018 season ticket holders and fans who have already purchased season tickets for the 2019 season will have the first opportunity to secure tickets for the game by using the promo code that will be emailed to them exclusively online at Ticketmaster.com. The general public will have access to tickets a week later.

Seating in the lower level will be reserved, while seating in the upper level will be opened based on demand. Lower-level tickets along the north and south sidelines will be distributed first, followed by end-zone tickets.

  • By phone through Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000

Student ticket information will be released online at UKStudentTix.com and emailed to all UK students in the coming weeks.

Lonnie Johnson says he’s the best CB in the draft

After finding himself near the bottom (if at all) of most mock drafts going into this past season, Kentucky cornerback Lonnie Johnson has skyrocketed all the way up to first-round status.

If you ask him, he’s the best corner in the entire NFL Draft and deserves to be the first taken off the board.

Whoever gets this stud will be set on the outside for quite some time.

Terrence Jones is back in the NBA

After balling out in the G-League this season, the Houston Rockets are taking a shot on their former first-round pick from 2012.

Former Kentucky forward Terrence Jones has signed a 10-day contract with the team.

In 24 games with the Atlanta Hawks G-League affiliate this season, Jones is averaging 23.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game on 52 percent shooting  and nearly 38 percent from three.

In four seasons with the Rockets from 2012-2016, Jones averaged 10.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in 178 total appearances.

John Calipari and players will meet with the media

Starting at 2:00 p.m. today, Coach Cal and a few select players will meet with the media to close out the Missouri win and preview the team’s matchup with Auburn tomorrow afternoon.

KSR will be there to give you all the quotes, news, and footage you can possibly dream of.

KSR in an hour

Matt Jones, Ryan Lemond, Shannon the Dude, and the rest of the KSR crew will be live this morning, as always, from 10 o’clock to noon.

We’ll see you then.

Go Cats.
