First and foremost, Happy Father’s Day to all the BBN dads out there! If you raised your kid a Wildcat fan, you did good. If not…that’s tough. Anyway, here’s what’s going on:

STOOPS & CAL OPEN CAMPUS TO IMPRESSIVE PROSPECTS

It has been a busy few days for the men’s basketball and football teams, with both inviting talented recruits to Lexington for official visits this weekend.

Coach Cal and company have been in full recruit mode. On Thursday, 2022 five-star shooting guard Shaedon Sharpe arrived in Lexington. Sharpe is ranked No. 11 overall and No. 3 in his position according to Rivals. Chris Livingston has also been on campus. Livingston is the No. 4 overall prospect and No. 2 small forward in his class.

The team plans to welcome five-star center Dereck Lively II some time this afternoon. Keyonte George will then arrive tomorrow. For more on the wild recruiting weekend, read Jack Pilgrim’s coverage.

Mark Stoops and his team have been doing their fair share of recruiting as well, as they hosted four prospects on campus this weekend. Two have already committed to the Wildcats, but the other two are undecided still. Offensive linemen Daughtry Richardson and Ryan Baer have both yet to announce future home. BUCKS BEAT NETS IN OT

Goodbye, ‘Big Three.’ Or just two I guess, considering star guard Kyrie Irving missed this one due to a right ankle sprain he sustained in Game 4. Nonetheless, the Nets are out after falling 115-111 to the Milwaukee Bucks in overtime.

Two-time MVP Kevin Durant did his best to make up for Irving’s absence. Durant ended with 48 points, nine rebounds and six assists. James Harden added 22 points, nine rebounds and nine assists, but it wasn’t quite enough. Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with an impressive 40-point, 13-rebound double-double in the win. But it was Khris Middleton who hit the game-winning shot with 40 seconds left in OT to seal the deal.

The Bucks will await the winner of the Hawks/76ers matchup tonight. That game is scheduled to tip-off at 8:00 p.m. on TNT.

Also, Devin Booker will make his Western Conference Finals debut later at 3:30 p.m. EST on ABC when his Phoenix Suns take on the Los Angeles Clippers in the series opener.

THE U.S. OPEN CONCLUDES TODAY

Saturday at the U.S. Open was a wild one for all our golf fans out there. The third round featured 13 golfers within four strokes of the lead–highly competitive to say the least.

In the end, though, there were three leaders: Mackenzie Hughes, Louis Oosthuizen and Russell Henley currently share the 54-hole lead at 5-under for the championship. Hughes went low for the second day in a row while Oosthuizen and Henley held pace. Henley seemed to be pulling away at times, but a few bogeys kept him in check.

Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau are currently tied for fourth place at -3.

HEAR FROM COACH CHIN

On Saturday afternoon, assistant coach Ron “Chin” Coleman stepped in front of the microphone to talk with the media following the Father-Daughter Camp. He talked some about name, image, likeness rules and how the staff is in the process of preparing for those new rules, how he got the nickname “Chin”, and why he has such an affinity for fashion. And oh yeah, there’s some basketball talk mixed in there, too.

Stay tuned to the site later today for updates from that conversation.
