Happy Mother’s Day 2021 to all of the moms throughout the Big Blue Nation. No one can truly put into words what moms do for us on a daily basis. I know my mom is one of the main reasons I am at the point I am now. There is no way I could have done it without her support along the way, Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!

Now onto the news you need to know to start your day:

Orlando Antigua and Chin Coleman speak to the media

The highlight of yesterday’s news cycle was new UK assistants Orlando Antigua and Chin Coleman’s first media opportunities.

The pair discussed a wide variety of topics from the fit at Kentucky to what the future will hold. KSR’s Adam Luckett and Tyler Thompson each covered multiple angles on the press conference. TyTy Washington Update

With Kentucky officially in dire need of a starting point guard, all attention has been shifted towards Class of 2021 guard TyTy Washington to potentially fill the void.

Washington will officially announce his college decision on May 15th, but yesterday told KSR’s Jack Pilgrim that he has again cut down his list to four.

UK signee Bryce Hopkins told KSR that he has been talking with Washington a lot and that he thinks there is a “good chance” he joins him in Lexington.

@UKBaseball

With their NCAA tournament hopes hanging in the balance, the Kentucky baseball team fell to Florida on Saturday afternoon by a 9-2 final tally.

The Cats picked up a huge win in game one of the series on Thursday evening but squandered a lead Friday night to the Gators. Yesterday’s contest was never in doubt as Florida cruised to victory.

Muhlenberg County High School is your 2021 KHSAA bass fishing champion. Fishing on Lake Barkley the past two days, the team of Lane Tooley and Camden Harris were crowned state champions with a two-day weight of 30 lbs., 8 oz.

I am the last guy in the world to talk fishing, but 30 pounds definitely sounds like a crazy impressive number. Congrats to the Mustangs!

Big Week Coming on KSR

KSR’s Matt Jones teased an impressive list of guests on the show last week and officially confirmed the group yesterday.

This should be a great week of radio.

That wraps up the news you need to know to start your Sunday. Once again, we would all like to wish everyone a very happy Mother’s Day! Go Cats!
