Shoutout to the Vaught family from Somerset for repping the Cats in San Francisco, one of my favorite cities. I hope they stopped by Fisherman’s Wharf to see the sea lions and grab an Irish Coffee at the Buena Vista. Well, not the kids. Hot chocolates at Ghirardelli for them.

Mark Stoops on SEC Teleconference

Today is the weekly SEC Coaches Teleconference, so check the site around lunch to see if Mark Stoops has any updates on his squad ahead of the Texas A&M game. I remember when Stoops would only be asked maybe one or two questions on this call; with a 5-0 record and a top 15 ranking, suddenly, he’s got so many questions he uses his full allotted time. Crazy how that works.

The CBS Sports Network crew piled the praise on Kentucky yesterday, with Randy Cross calling the Cats the story of the year in college football and two of three experts picking them to beat Texas A&M:

John Calipari’s feeling really good about his basketball team

Football is dominating the headlines, but over at the Joe Craft Center, John Calipari is feeling pretty swaggy. The Cats are officially practicing now, going through their first two-a-days this past weekend. On Monday, Cal posted this picture from his office while the guys were getting in extra work in the gym below.

Pack the Bell for No. 4 Kentucky vs. No. 2 Indiana

The men’s soccer team hosts No. 2 Indiana at 7 p.m. tonight at the Bell and UK’s pulling out all the stops. Youth soccer teams get in for free (email [email protected] for more information) and UK will be giving away two tickets to Big Blue Madness to someone in the stands. Non-conference tickets (except for Kansas) go on sale

UK’s doing their single-game ticket sales a little differently this year. Instead of selling them in bunches as the season goes on, UK is dividing the schedule in half for two public sales. Tonight at 5 p.m., tickets to the Cats’ non-conference home games (minus Kansas) go on sale on Ticketmaster. Tickets to Kentucky’s SEC home games and the Kansas game will go on sale November 20 at 5 p.m.
