Good morning. It’s a new week at the UK football facility and in life, so let’s put the heartbreak and frustration behind us–all of the way behind us before slowing down short of our goals–as we head on to Week 3 of the college football season and Week 203 of 2020. Mississippi State is coming to town and Kentucky cannot lose again or this downward spiral may become irreversible. But until then, there is a week of prep for the team and the fans, and there’s no better way to kick off this gorgeous Monday in positive spirits than with a clip of Big Bully McCall and his first sack:

Mark Stoops will speak to the media at noon.

Stoops has some explaining to do now that he’s had a day to unwind and review the film from Saturday’s loss in the home opener. He’ll be asked plenty of questions on what went wrong in that game when he addresses the media at noon today in his normal Monday press conference. We will also get injury updates and what he sees ahead with Mississippi State coming to town in five days. Check back here for all of Stoops’ comments.

A new KSR Football Podcast drops this morning.

The four of us were so upset we recorded this week’s KSR Football Podcast episode a night early, therefore it will be in your palms and ears as early as this morning. Nick Roush, Freddie Maggard, Charles Walker and I talk about AJ Rose’s arrogance, new concerns through two games, what we liked on Saturday, and more.

Kentucky is not ranked in this week’s AP Poll.

But you already knew that.

Tyler Herro’s Miami Heat took a game from the Lakers last night.

Put those brooms away because Miami isn’t going down without a fight in the NBA Finals. Playing without All-Star and former Kentucky star Bam Adebayo, Miami still managed to win Game 3, 115-104, powered by a 40-point, 13-assist, 11-rebound triple-double by Jimmy Butler. Tyler Herro, now in the starting lineup, pitched in 17 points on 6-of-18 shooting from the field and immeasurable confidence.

Lynn Bowden made his NFL debut in the Wild-Dolphin?

Bowden gained five yards on his first ever NFL touch, a direct snap from the center to move the ball on first down in the red zone.

Also, WildDolphin is a terrible name and I should delete it but it’s early and I’m tired so on we go…

We’re going back west for Kroger’s KSR Game of the Week.

Week 5 will take us to Owensboro Catholic as the Aces host the crosstown Red Devils of Owensboro High. Both teams are undefeated and we’re excited to cover it.
