Searching for a fourth consecutive win over South Carolina, Kentucky turned a slow start into a dominant performance.  The Cats controlled the line of scrimmage and contained the Cocks' offense to take a commanding 20-6 lead with nine minutes to play. South Carolina had one rally left in them, but Johnson would not let the game slip out of the Cats' grasp. Up only seven with three minutes to play, Johnson tucked a third down pass and turned it into a 54-yard run to effectively end the game. It was Johnson's second big run of the night.  The other out of a read option went 22 yards and ended with the iconic image that heads this post.  Kentucky converted 9-of-16 third downs to grind out a hard-fought win in Columbia. Just like these plays, Stephen Johnson's Kentucky football teams did not always bring flare to the football field, but they worked well enough to win.
