Reports are circulating out of Baton Rouge that Tubby Smith is the leading candidate to take over at LSU. Trent Johnson left the Tigers for TCU last week, opening the door for a new face to come in and take over the Johnny O'Bryant/Anthony Hickey show. Smith would be a good hire for LSU because of his success in the conference. He was a head coach in the conference from 1995-2007 with Georgia and Kentucky. LSU will play at Kentucky next season, so if he does take the job, it would be the perfect opportunity to honor him for bringing banner No. 7 to Lexington back in 1998. Rivals.com names three other coaches as potential candidates behind Tubby: North Texas’ Johnny Jones, Oral Roberts’ Scott Sutton and Lehigh’s Brett Reed. Go Tubby.
