img_0503 Alabama will be a "great challenge" Alabama is the No. 1 team in the nation and there is a reason for that. Eddie Gran said this game will be a "great challenge"  and exciting game for his team. "That’s why these guys came here, to play in this kind of atmosphere," Gran said. "We’re going to have to go out and play our best football. Anytime you play the No. 1 team in the country you’ve got to play your best football." Stephen Johnson's play at Florida will help Road SEC games are not easy, especially in Tuscaloosa. Even though this is Johnson's first road SEC start, the little playing time he got on the road at Florida will help in the tough environment on Saturday. "I think that’ll help him," Gran said. "He got that little introduction there. It wasn’t very good so we’ve got to obviously build, we’ve got to move forward and we’ve got to move forward very fast." Johnson knows the opponent and environment he is facing on Saturday. "They're probably going to have the same speed, if not faster than Florida. That atmosphere in Tuscaloosa is going to be off the charts. So I mean it definitely prepared us as a offense and as a team going down there to Florida," Johnson said. What Stephen Johnson needs to work on One thing that Gran and Johnson talked about after the South Carolina was turnovers. "Making decisions when he’s out of the pocket or wherever he’s at if nobody’s open get rid of it or run," Gran said. "And a couple times he didn’t do that. I think he’ll take a step forward here in this game."
Johnson said he needs to work on his footwork. "I think I had really terrible footwork in the last game with my throws and trying to get the ball to certain people," Johnson said.
Boom Williams has progressed  Not only has Boom's play on the field progressed this season, but so has his demeanor. Gran admitted that they he and Boom have had their ups and downs, but that their relationship is good. "I think he matured like crazy just looking at the game and how excited he was just to win the game and be a part of a victory, congratulating everybody on the sideline, his demeanor and everything has been fantastic," Gran said. The offense needs to run the ball well Like we saw on Saturday against South Carolina, Kentucky needs to run the ball well to win the game. Whether it's Boom, Benny Snell, Jojo Kemp or even Stepphen Johnson, the run game is the most important key for Kentucky to win a football game. "But if we can’t run the ball we’ve got no chance in any game," Gran said. "We’ve got to be able to run the ball, because that’s just going to help our passing game."
