Before the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, there will be the NBA G League Elite Camp in Chicago. The latter is a new addition to the draft evaluation process: a three-day scouting event for the top 40 prospects not invited to the combine, plus 40 of the G League’s top players from the 2018-19 season.

The inaugural G League Elite Camp’s 80-man participant list has been announced and it includes two former Wildcats, but maybe not the two you have in mind. It will be Marcus Lee and Mychal Mulder representing Kentucky as two of the 40 G League invitees, while none of Kentucky’s draft-eligible players out of college (Nick Richards or Reid Travis) are on the list, which also includes familiar names like Myles Powell, Jared Harper, Bryce Brown and my twin brother Luke Maye.
