Ulis was drafted by the Suns with the 34th overall selection in 2016, joining former Kentucky teammate Devin Booker and 2010-11 Wildcat Brandon Knight for the entirety of his first two NBA seasons. Fellow UK alum Eric Bledsoe was traded from Phoenix to the Milwaukee Bucks last November, while Archie Goodwin was released by the Suns prior to Ulis' rookie season.   Ulis played in 71 games, making 43 starts in 2017-18. The former Southeastern Conference Player of the Year averaged 7.8 points, 4.4 assists, and 1.0 steals in 23.4 minutes per game. Ulis exploded for a team-high 23 points in a 111-99 loss to the LA Clippers on March 28 and recorded four double-doubles on the season.
