UConn Back In The Mix For Selby?; UK Gets Selby This Weekend

On Monday, we posted a discussion with Maeshon Witherspoon, the mother of top recruit Josh Selby, where she explains that there are other schools that pop up and try to get involved with Josh. Their position is to sit back, watch their games and pay attention to who is best utilizing their options to build a relationship with Josh. According to an article on KU's TheShiver.com, UConn may be impressing the family. The article explains that Selby and his mother may use one of their official visits to travel to UConn's campus in the Spring. UConn, if you remember, was one of the early contenders for Selby's services but was thought to be eliminated from consideration. Now it seems that Coach Calhoun and his staff are playing their cards right and have worked their way back onto Selby's list. It is important to remember though that Selby's situation, because he is rather new to the recruiting scene since his decommitment from Tennessee, is an ever-changing environment and nothing is set in stone. A lot could change but I'm sure the other Coach Cal will be doing his best to make sure his school doesn't drop down the list again. Selby will be in town this weekend for UK's matchup against Louisville. It will be Selby's first official visit. Witherspoon told us that they are most looking forward to seeing the fans and the facilities. Kansas' fans wowed Selby on his visit to their midnight madness. His UK visit will be followed up with a trip to Arizona, accompanied by Doron Lamb, the following weekend. If things work out as planned, Witherspoon and Selby will be in Lawrence for their official Kansas visit on February 13th for the Iowa State game. After those visits are complete, he'll have two official visits remaining. Notes:
