UK Fan of the Day Wants Afternoon Notes

A few notes on what has been a fun couple of hours talking sports with my internet friends...  - As we all wait for some sort of sign that the momentum of a UK fan movement to issue clarifications from other schools regarding celebrating wins that were vacated, there comes a little bit of hope.  ESPN's Eamonn Brennan puts together a recap of UK fans' frustrations in his college basketball blog that you probably know more as the place where Diamond Leung is forever.  Brennan doesn't really add any new insight (that's not what the blog is for), but does note the absurdity of it all.  Mission accomplished?  No.  But the Worldwide Leader now has the nonsense on their site, so there's a small celebration in order.  Maybe we'll order some mozzarella sticks or something.  - Coach Cal had a lot of good stuff to say in his meeting with the media in his satellite camp in Bowling Green and some of it has already been noted.  However, Cal did talk a bit about scheduling in the now division-free SEC, saying that he'd prefer a 16-game conference slate.  He called a 22-game schedule a "disaster" and said he could tolerate an 18-game schedule.  Then he told Dennis Thomas to suck it.  Not really, but he should have.  - With the world all abuzz with the possibility that Enes Kanter might have a shot at the top overall slot in the draft and John Calipari's optimism that he won't slide past #2 overall, NBA reporter Sam Amico says Kanter is sliding out of the top five.  Amico doesn't elaborate (damn you, Twitter), but hints that poor workouts might be the cause.  That would contradict most of what has been reported about the Turkish phenom to this point.  However, if Kanter falls to six and the Washington Wizards, is that really a bad thing?  They have new jerseys!  And a guy who throws a baseball worse than him!   - After interviewing for just about every open position the NBA has had to offer, former Kentucky player and coach Dwane Casey has accepted the Toronto Raptors head coaching position.  Casey served as an assistant coach for your world champion Dallas Mavericks last season, which is pretty much the exact opposite of being the head coach of the Toronto Raptors.  - Over at the official blog of the hottest thing in television, cn|2, Chip Cosby writes on the difference between the media and fans and how difficult it can be at times to differentiate between the two.  While it has a lot of interesting insight (pun!) and a little-known fact that Chip's dad played basketball at U of L, it has no pictures of Chip in any of his many snazzy outfits.  Next time.  - Auburn dished out their three - yes, three - championship rings over the weekend and now enjoy all the glory that comes with being champions.  First up, an investigative piece from Sports By Brooks!  Brooks writes that Auburn paid their hosts just under $100,ooo per year to entice the guys they can't pay at all to come to campus.  I'm sure people will get upset about this.  I say it was money well spent.  - If you you still haven't had enough and you're dying for more to read while you bleed your employer dry, check out Sports Illustrated's All-time NBA Draft.  A number of the SI personalities came together to draft teams from a pool of every player to ever lace them up in the NBA.  Michael Jordan went first overall, followed by Wilt Chamberlain.  The two of them celebrated by sleeping with about 400 people apiece.  - If you haven't heard yet, Jackass star Ryan Dunn was killed this morning in a car accident.  The picture of what is left of his car is incredible.  Sad story.
