UK Fans of the Day Want Afternoon Notes

uk-fans-of-the-day-feb-18 Happy Friday afternoon!  After things started out fairly slowly, they're picking up quite a bit.  Here are a few nuggets for you to chew on before the weekend hits in a few minutes/hours/whatever your schedule is....  - As Matt mentioned on the show, a subject we've talked about a lot lately around the KSR Compound is the feel of malaise surrounding UK fans as Kentucky gets set for their final five games of the season.  It's tough to put a finger on the exact cause, but the emotional high of last season mixed with the struggles this year seem to be a fair reason.  Plus, there's no dance.  Maybe we should rectify that today.  - Bracket guru Jerry Palm was on with Tom Leach today and said that he thinks UK could rise as high as a three-seed for the NCAA Tournament.  Obviously, that would involve them making a significant push through the end of the year and a few other teams would have to slip, but it's a nice optimistic take.  Avoiding the one seed for an extra round and playing against one of the two seeds that don't look to be world-beaters would be a bonus.  - The Houston Rockets handed out a Chuck Hayes Bobblehead.  The Houston Rockets players had fun with it.  They thought the bald spot was missing, the cankles were too small and that he looked like Billy Dee Williams.  Watch the video here.   - It's a big weekend for former Cats in the NBA as Eric Bledsoe, John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo will be involved in various ways at All-Star festivities.  Rondo is on the cover of Sports Illustrated.  He's not wearing a swimsuit.  Sorry.  - Don't forget that tonight is DanceBlue.  Matt and the gang will podcast from the event and that makes it even cooler than it already was determined to be.  Make sure you support them.  Please. If you missed the show this morning, here is the podcast.  Yesterday's show was even fixed so you can have an all-afternoon Kentucky Sports Radio bonanza.  Enjoy.
