Sunday evening seventeen different Wildcat Football players gave some of their time to take on a different kind of opponent, in a much different sport. "We were actually expecting to play flag football. Our guys aren't exactly the best basketball players and we were actually losing for a little while," said Senior to-be Fullback Cody Jones. Cody got his teammates involved after speaking to a classmate of his in one of his special education courses. Dave Wickstrom is the coach for The Lexington Wildcats- the defending Special Olympics' State Championship team that practices weekly- and thought it'd be a great idea for the football players to get involved with his team and the Lexington Defenders.   Cody sent a text out to a group of teammates but did not expect the response he received. "I didn't have to pull their legs or anything like that.  They were all very enthusiastic about helping out in the community."No coaches were involved, but the large turnout from guys like QB Jalen Whitlow and TE Tyler Robinson, made it fun for both sides. Cody expects his teammates to participate in the future, but next time they'll have to bring some better basketballers.
