Well, this is one way to fill up the stadium Saturday. My source inside the Fayette County School System tells me UK is giving away two tickets to any Cassidy Elementary or Morton Middle School student who donates a "snack item" to the Cassidy/Morton Family Resource Youth Service Center food pantry as part of Commonwealth Stadium's Food Drive Day. That means, for a simple donation of a box of crackers, two more seats will be filled for the season opener. Recommended donation items include boxes of granola bars, peanut butter or cheese crackers, microwave ravioli, mac 'n cheese, individual cereals or juice boxes. So in short, one box of crackers is worth two UK football tickets. This is where we are right now in our journey. Beat Southern Miss. (And at least it is for a good cause. Good for the Cassidy/Morton FRYSC.)
