UK Headless Fan of the Day Wants Afternoon Notes

uk-fans-of-the-day-jan-17 Michael Gilchrist and Shabazz Muhammad are doing battle on ESPNU at the moment under the watchful pectorals of this UK fan.  Despite having his head cut off by ESPN cameras, he still remains the smallest boob in the picture.  Boom!  Roasted!  A few notes...  - Monday again brought the SEC Coaches Teleconference and Coach Cal spent some time answering the fairly standard rotation and depth questions before getting after Terrence Jones a bit.  Cal said that he demands more from his star freshman and that there are giant expectations for him now and that's no one's fault but his own.  Calipari stressed that Jones has shown what he is capable of doing and he expects that type of performance from him.  He added that it would be "a great disservice" to Terrence to not challenge him on a daily basis to be the elite player that he's shown he can be.  - That being said, Terrence Jones was named SEC Freshman of the Week for the third time this season.  Jones averaged 26 points and 7.5 rebounds in UK's two wins over the SEC West's basement and broke Doron Lamb's freshman scoring record.  - The new ESPN poll was released today and the Cats checked in at #12.  They are the second-highest ranked team with three losses (Texas is #11) and the only SEC team in the polls.  Looks like another week of defending the conference for Coach Cal.  - After getting off to a monster start this morning, Anthony Davis suffered an injury and had to leave the court.  There were fears that he might have suffered a broken wrist, but it was later ruled to be just a bruised thumb.  It is believed that Davis would need to bruise or break about 15 other bones to lose his starting spot on that team.  - Great news, folks!  LSU is apparently going to interview The Kragthorpe for their offensive coordinator job.  Again, the Cats play the Tigers in Baton Rouge October 1.  - Finally, in case you missed it this morning, Matt and EZ talked about UK's 2012 recruiting targets and weekend of news for both the football and basketball team.  Make sure you check it out. And, since a handful of you are already off work this afternoon, here's an extra Fan of the Day photo.  The have more spirit than our headless friend, but this picture is probably one that you're better off not viewing at work, so it's been buried after the jump.  You've been sufficiently warned/intrigued. uk-fans-of-the-day-jan-17-2
