In addition to the final home game at Rupp on Saturday (and plenty of high school Sweet 16 action as well), it's a pretty busy weekend in Kentucky athletics. Matthew Mitchell's UK Hoops team plays their first SEC Tournament game today at 6:00 against Vanderbilt. If they win, the Cats will play at the same time on Saturday and Sunday and all games will be televised. Below you can view the updated bracket after opening round games:

Below is Wilder Treadway's breakdown of the favorites this weekend. Click here to read further where Wilder discusses the contenders, the upsets and everything else you need to know about the SEC Women's Tournament.
The Favorites These are the teams you would want to bet on if you were in Las Vegas. They have been the most consistent throughout the conference season, and will probably be the highest seeded teams in the NCAA Tournament. Watch out for them. -No surprise here, perennial power Tennessee is the number 1 seed in the SEC Tournament this year, having only lost two conference games the entire season. The Cats gave the Vols quite the beat down last Sunday in Lexington, but Meighan Simmons and Co. are a dangerous team. Led by Holly Warlick in her first year replacing the legendary Pat Summitt, Tennessee has stayed steady, using a balanced offensive attack to beat teams. Tennessee women’s basketball fans are known to travel well, so expect to see a loooot of orange in Duluth this weekend. -The preseason pick to win the SEC, Kentucky is the number 2 seed this year, falling only a game behind Tennessee. The Cats stumbled a few times on the road, and in a shocker earlier in the season to Georgia at home. In their season finale they knocked off the Vols in what might have been the best team victory all year. The potential is sky high for the Wildcats, and if they can string together some impressive performances back to back, A’dia Mathies might have just another ring to bring home after her career is over. UK now has the confidence they can beat any team they want to, they just have to go out and do it. A potential semifinal matchup against either Georgia or LSU, both teams that have beaten Kentucky this season, will be a tough task for Mitchell’s squad. -Georgia is a team that could lose their first game, or win the whole championship. As the 3 seed, they have been known to be bipolar at times. It’s hard to think a team could go on the road and knock of a top-10 UK squad, then just a few weeks later put up just 38 points in an embarrassing defeat to Mississippi State. Andy Landers is a veteran coach, but hasn’t brought home the gold in quite the while. If Miller, Hassell, and Armstrong can consistently produce, this Bulldogs team is a very dangerous postseason team with a lot to bring to the table.

In addition to UK Hoops postseason action, the UK baseball team (11-1) hosts a three-game series with Michigan State, with the first pitch scheduled for 4:00 this afternoon.

Friday - A.J. Reed (2-1, 4.70 ERA) vs. Andrew Waszak (1-1, 2.50 ERA) at 4:00 Saturday - Jerad Grundy (3-0, 0.43 ERA) vs. David Garner (2-0, 4.50 ERA) at 2:00 Sunday - Corey Littrell (1-0, 4.32 ERA) vs. Mick VanVoossen (0-0, 6.30 ERA) at 1:00   Be sure to check back throughout the weekend here at KSR and on KSR College to keep up with the latest action.
