Kentucky Softball had bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning with two outs and a full count, down one run to Alabama. But Crimson Tide pitcher Montana Fouts put one down the middle and UK’s Tatum Spangler left it on the umpire for the called third strike, thus ending Game 1, 4-3.

The Super Regional will now move to Game 2 of its best-of-three series with a spot in the College World Series on the line. Alabama can secure its place in Oklahoma City with a win tomorrow afternoon, or Kentucky can force a decisive Game 3 on Sunday.

First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
