With New Mexico State and the entire 2021 home schedule behind them, the Kentucky Football players and coaches can now move on to the big rivalry against Louisville. It didn’t take long for the Cardinals to come up in postgame conversations as everyone in the Kentucky Football facility made the quick jump to Rivalry Week.

We’ll start with Mark Stoops in his postgame comments and then move to the good stuff from Wan’Dale Robinson, Quandre Mosely, and defensive coordinator Brad White.

Mark Stoops kept it coach speak

As always, Stoops stayed pretty committed to coach speak. No L’s down or memories of Bobby Petrino beef to share in his postgame press conference. He did address the game, though, and how rivalry prep begins ASAP.

“I caught some of that game the other night and they looked very good obviously just on the TV, catching them putting up a lot of points,” he said. “So, you know, they’ll have my full attention as soon as we get done with this press conference.”

Now for the good stuff…

Wan’Dale Robinson’s message to recruits

The SEC’s second-leading receiver was quick to point out that Louisville didn’t recruit him when he was the state’s top-ranked player in the Class of 2019. Only 50 miles stand between the Louisville football complex and Robinson’s Western Hills High School in Frankfort, but as he pointed out in his postgame comments, Louisville doesn’t prioritize the homegrown Bluegrass talent.

“They didn’t recruit me at all,” Robinson said. “That goes to show that they don’t really take pride in keeping everybody in-state. So, all of the recruits that see this, you know where to come.”

Quandre Mosley’s confidence

Feeling good after his pick-six against New Mexico State, cornerback Quandre Mosley shared his confidence in Kentucky’s regular season finale at Louisville. Some of Mosley’s high school teammates joined the dark side to play for the Cardinals and he predicted yet another win in the rivalry next weekend.

“We’re going to come out with a win,” the senior said with no hesitation.

Brad White’s house rule

Defensive coordinator Brad White also had lots to say about Louisville, mostly because his defense has its hands full with Malik Cunningham and Louisville’s high-scoring offense. But he also spoke of the magnitude of the rivalry and how it didn’t take long for him and his family to cut out any and all red once they moved to Lexington.

“Everybody knows what this means,” White said. “This rivalry, everybody from the players, my kids know. Since the moment they got here, they know what color they don’t wear in the house, so we’ll be ready.”

That’s a great house rule for the family. Hear all of White’s Louisville comments.
