UK’s cheerleaders will represent the United States at the Olympics in South Korea next month; after high-level talks, it appears North Korea’s cheerleaders will join them.

Representatives from North and South Korea met today to discuss the Olympics in PyeongChang and North Korea offered to send a delegation that includes athletes, cheerleaders, cultural performers, Taekwondo performers, and government officials. The cheerleading squad — so famed for its beauty it’s been dubbed the “Army of Beauties” — will likely share performance space with UK’s cheerleaders, who won their 22nd national championship last year.

According to the BBC, North Korea’s cheerleaders are generally 20 years of age, selected from a good family background, and often times plucked from universities or music schools. They’re selected “on the basis of appearance” and must also have the right “ideology.” The most famous North Korean cheerleader is Ri Sol-ju, now the wife of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. She represented North Korea at the Asian Athletics Championships in 2005.
