Update: Josh Selby, Doron Lamb, Terrence Jones

by:Dustin Rumbaugh11/23/09
Over the weekend, I was given the chance to take a crack at running the site (a task that is actually a LOT more tedious than you would think). In case you missed it, you may want to take a look back over some of the content on Sunday because there were quite a few bits of news that you might have missed. Also, in case you missed it on Saturday, we broke a bit of news about Angel Nunez making a visit to UK's campus for the UK/UL game in early January. Today, just to get you guys all caught up on where three of UK's top recruits currently stand, we'll take a very brief look at the situations facing Josh Sebly, Doron Lamb and Terrence Jones:

Josh Selby- Selby just finished up a visit to Indiana's campus and his mother spoke some nice words of approval for the Hoosiers. Kansas has also hosted Selby for a visit. Kentucky is still very very much involed with Selby and Selby is still high on the Cats. Both sides are currently working to find a date for Selby to make a visit to Kentucky's campus. Things still are far from sealed up but it is looking like Selby may be in town for a game as soon as early December.

Doron Lamb- Lamb has four visits under his belt and may still be taking a 5th. The 5th possible visit would be take down to Arizona where Sean Miller is coaching. Book Richardson is an assistant of Miller's and has previous connections to Lamb's AAU organization, the NY Gauchos. Kansas, UConn, Oklahoma and Kentucky are the other schools involved and Kentucky also has a connection with Lamb's AAU group. Both Rod Strickland and Orlando Antigua are former members of the Gauchos. Lamb's father, Calvin, told Zag's Blog that Doron could possibly decide very soon and just sign his papers in the Spring. Lamb is currently home on Thanksgiving break and the family is planning on discussing their options at some point during this break. Therefore this is a situation to watch pretty closely over the next week. We should be able to give you an update on this situation in the next few days, which should shed more light on whether a decision will in fact come soon.

Terrence Jones- Terrence is receiving a lot of attention from the Cats staff these days. They've been out to see Mr. Jones very recently and would love to receive a commitment from him during the Fall. His mother is also more than fine with Terrence deciding in the Fall. What really matters though is that Terrence doesn't seem to be quite ready to decide and still remains torn on what he should do. The consensus here seems to be that Jones is mulling over the option of staying close to home and playing in one of a few West coast schools pursuing him or moving out to Kentucky where Terrence understands that he could absolutely flourish in Calipari's dribble drive offense. Jones' skill set was built for the DDM and he knows this. So while it may seem like there are a lot of uncertainties in Jones' recruitment, which there are, we also know a little bit about what is going on behind closed doors out in Portland. We'll also try to give you an update in this area soon as well.

More to come later in the week. We'll try to keep on top of the above situations, which I hope I helped shed a little light on just now. Also, we'll continue taking sneak peeks at some of the under the radar kids that UK is keeping an eye on.
