Update on Dominique Hawkins and Kentucky

by:Kristen Geil03/07/13
After dropping 25 points on 11-17 shooting yesterday in Madison Central's win over Wayne County in front of John Calipari and his clique, Dominique Hawkins acknowledged that Kentucky's interest in him has picked up recently. The cousin of former UK player and current grad assistant Marquis Estill, Hawkins has scholarship offers from Western Kentucky, Morehead State, Tennessee Tech, and Valparaiso- but is quick to say that a scholarship offer from Kentucky would be a "dream," according to Evan Daniels of Scout.com:
“It would be great,” Hawkins said when asked about a potential UK offer. “It’s been my dream school since I was a little kid in diapers. I was watching them on TV and cheering for them. I’m still a fan of Kentucky.”
It should be noted that Hawkins has said he would decline a walk-on position at any school, saying he's "not interested in that." Hawkins next plays on Friday at noon against James Bolden and Holmes High School of Convington.   @KristenGeilKSR
