Briscoe1 (1) Isaiah Briscoe did not receive an offer to the NBA combine, which, as John Calipari said when he announced his entire team would declare, means Briscoe is coming back to school. But not just yet. Briscoe will wait it out as he hopes for a spot to open up at the combine -- he is on the alternate list -- and go through private workouts with NBA teams. He has until May 25 to announce his return to school. Briscoe's father, George Briscoe, is happy with whatever comes of the final decision. The elder Briscoe told The Courier-Journal“I love Kentucky. (Isaiah)’s really grown as a person, so I’m OK either way.” If there is a sophomore season in Lexington, Isaiah plans to show off more of an offensive game, the one he lost somewhere in the transition from high school to college. George Briscoe knows it is in his son, and together they are working to regain that confidence this offseason. “You don’t go from five months ago being a dominant scoring guard to going to school and not being able to perform, so I’ve got to get his confidence back," he said. It's looking very unlikely Isaiah will hear his named called in the first round on draft night, if we're to believe the current mock drafts. The one-time projected top-20 pick has fallen off draft boards and sits way down at No. 71 in Chad Ford's Top 100. It'll take some serious interest from a team in need of a guard who can't shoot to keep him in the draft. But, ya never know.
