Vanderbilt is out of running backs

Kentucky’s inability to stop the run this season shouldn’t be an issue Saturday when the Commodores come to town.  Vanderbilt is down to one ball carrier and has moved sophomore linebacker Micah Powell to running back.  Powell joins fourth-stringer and probable starter Kennard Reeves and Eric Samuels, a defensive back, in the backfield.

Vandy’s starter and do-everything back Warren Norman is out for the season after he dislocated his wrist in the second half of a blowout loss to Arkansas on October 30th.  His replacement, Zac Stacy, suffered a concussion in last week’s 55-14 loss to Florida.  Third stringer Wesley Tate sprained his ankle in the same game and is doubtful for Saturday against the Cats.

It’s not looking good for Vandy.  The situation is unfortunate but we’ll take it as this is a must-win game (like it always is) to become bowl eligible.

Write this down.  If Kentucky’s defense gives up 20+ points in the first half to this depleted team, I’m quitting the site and moving over to Mississippi State Sports Radio.

Just. Stop. The. Pass.

Go Cats.
