Kentucky will get back to action on Kroger Field against Vanderbilt on Saturday. The Commodores are 0-5 and coming off their best performance of the season in a 24-17 loss to Mississippi State. Here are some names to remember as we continue to preview this weekend’s matchup:

OFFENSE

Quarterback Ken Seals. The 6’3, 218-pound true freshman from Texas has completed 67% of his passes and impressed through five games. The confident rookie has not been shy about taking shots into tight windows and is coming off his best collegiate game against Mississippi State. Seals led the Commodores to thirty first downs against one of the better defenses in the SEC by going 31/45 for 336 yards and a touchdown. He’s thrown for 1,066 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions on the season.  Running back Keyon Henry-Brooks. Much like Seals, Henry-Brooks enjoyed his most productive game against the Bulldogs. The 6’1 sophomore rushed for 115 yards and had eleven receptions for 97. A true all-purpose back, Henry-Brooks is a threat out of the backfield in the pass game and is developing into an elusive runner. He’s rushed for Vandy’s only two touchdowns on the ground in 2020. Expect what Mark Stoops describes as “aggravating yards” from Henry-Brooks on Saturday.  Receiver Cam Johnson. Vanderbilt’s top pass-catcher is ranked 13th in the SEC with 33 receptions for 338 yards. The former four-star prospect had 10 catches for 114 yards a week ago in Starkville.  Tight end Ben Bresnahan. The junior from Georgia has caught 17 passes for 169 yards and 2 touchdowns. His top performance of the season came against Ole Miss when he registered 6 receptions for 72 yards.

DEFENSE

Defensive end Dayo Odoyingbo. The All-SEC performer is VU’s top pass rusher and has registered 3.5 QB sacks in 2020. He’s also accumulated 21 total tackles and 7 QB hurries.  Cornerback Jaylen Mahoney. Mahoney has recorded a team-leading 33 total tackles, 2 pass breakups, and 1 fumble recovery. He’s coming off a 10-tackle performance against Mississippi State.  Linebacker Anfernee Orji. Another former four-star, Orji ranks second on the team with 32 total tackles. He had 9 stops a week ago vs. the Bulldogs.  Safety Dashaun Jerkins. The Commodores starting safety will miss the first half against Kentucky due to a targeting penalty against Mississippi State. The junior from Woodbridge, Virginia has 29 total tackles, 2 pass breakups, and 1 fumble recovery in 2020.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Kicker Pierson Cooke. Cooke is only 2/6 on field goals with a long of 41.
