Vandy's football coach will joke about looking at your wife, and then apologize
It's never a good idea to joke about looking at someone's wife before offering them a job. It's especially not a good idea to say it on the radio. I can't even imagine someone doing it if they coach a college football team. But Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin did it.
“I’ve been saying it for a long time, I will not hire an assistant coach until I’ve seen his wife,” Franklin said during an on-air interview. “If she looks the part, and she’s a D-1 recruit, then you got a chance to get hired. That’s part of the deal.
Yup, he really did it.
