Though it might've sounded like him, that wasn't Cleveland's 'Man With The Golden Voice' on Kentucky Sports Radio radio with Matt Jones and Ryan Lemond this morning; it was University of Kentucky tight ends coach Vince Marrow. Marrow, the man behind UK's recruiting success in Ohio, stopped by the show to explain his close relationship with Mark Stoops and how the two have been so successful recruiting their home state. Marrow was an assistant at Nebraska six months ago before teaming up with his lifelong friend from Youngstown to turn the Kentucky football program around. "When I knew Mark got the job, I'll be honest with you, I saw Kentucky, SEC, close to Ohio -- I was like 'this could be a good thing,'" he told KSR this morning. Marrow also took time out of talking Kentucky football with KSR to recruit an old, out-of-shape, talentless wide receiver on air. Have a listen at the 13:50 mark to hear his recruiting pitch to class of 1985 one-star recruit Ryan Lemond.
