Tennessee fans really didn't like Kentucky's injuries
Let’s give credit where credit is due. Neyland Stadium knows how to host a big football game under the lights. The Tennessee Vols’ home stadium made things incredibly difficult for Kentucky on Saturday night in one of the most challenging environments in college football. Neyland used all sorts of tricks to rally its crowd of 100,000 fans for the rivalry game, including a theme for the night, “Dark Mode,” with an illuminated T entrance and spookier versions of “Rocky Top.”
Admittedly, I was slightly jealous watching Tennessee’s home atmosphere as it was at its best for Tennessee’s 28-18 win over the Wildcats on Saturday. There was, however, one moment when it was on its worst behavior, though.
Chanting “You’re a p***y!,” was a little overboard, right? I mean, Tre’vonn Rybka (a Tennessee native, I will add) had just gotten rolled up in a pile, and this was how the home crowd responded, with “You’re a p***y!” chants. Sure, Kentucky fell down a lot, but not like Ole Miss a lot. And what happened to fun for the whole family?

One other moment that crossed a line. How was the two-handed shot to Brock Vandagriff‘s head not called a penalty? Even the broadcast crew wondered how the cheapshot went ignored. That’s assault in several countries or, at the very least, a late hit in a football game.
Vandagriff, who left the game with a head injury later in the game, threw an interception on the next play.
