Waka Flocka was front and center for Kentucky’s win over Florida Saturday, tailgating with fans, leading the team out of the tunnel, and storming the field. Last night, the man behind “Grove Street Party” raved about his experience with Alyssa Lang on Out of Pocket.

“Coach Stoops. Kentucky. I felt like I grew up in Kentucky, the way the love was, the energy was and how everybody gravitated with each other. It felt like we were in the NFL. I felt like that was the Super Bowl. It was amazing.”

Flocka hails from Atlanta, Georgia. Even though he says he cheers for the Bulldogs, his trip to Kroger Field may have converted him to a Wildcat.

“I felt like a Wildcat even though I’m a dog for life. But I definitely was hanging with the Cats. I don’t think nothing’s going to top that. I don’t know how Kentucky’s gonna outdo that game.”

Waka Flocka had the full Kentucky experience on Saturday, spending time with the team before and after the game. He said he was struck by the family atmosphere around the program.

“What impressed me the most about the team was the whole day, just walking around and going to the locker room, the equipment room. The way they — their team spirit, it’s like a brotherhood. You’d think they all have the same mother and father. That’s a real family in that locker room. I felt a lot of love in the locker room. I didn’t feel no separation. That was a day to remember.”

“Nobody that day could tell me I wasn’t a Wildcat”

Waka is no stranger to big-time atmospheres. He said the party on the field and in the locker room is up there with them all.

“I had that moment, I’m like, ‘This just don’t ever get old.’ I don’t care how many times you do it. I felt like I was a player, by the way; I felt really felt like I was. Nobody that day could tell me I wasn’t a Wildcat, by the way. Them kids are blessed.”

Kentucky paid for Waka’s appearance on Saturday, but he said he’ll be back for future games, football, basketball, and women’s basketball alike.

“Definitely. I love Kentucky,” he said. “I’m definitely coming back. I want to see them play. I’m going to do it a lot this year.”

Plies loves Wan’Dale Robinson

Waka isn’t the only Kentucky fan in the hip-hop community. Rapper Plies — who is 5’5″ — posted a video on Twitter last night praising Wan’Dale Robinson for “busting the [expletive] game open” even though he’s only 5’11”.
