He resigned yesterday from his throne as head coach of the Pitt Panthers, but don't count Wanny out of the BBVA Compass Bowl just yet. Pittsburgh athletic director Steve Pederson has given Dave Wannstedt the option of coaching Pitt in the bowl game. Wannstedt has not made a decision and an interim coach has yet to be named. If Wannstedt does decide to go ahead call it quits now, Pitt could hire it's new head coach and have him (or her) ready to go by January 8th.  I selfishly hope to see Dave Wannstedt and his chevron mustache of awesomeness in Birmingham.  It's how the game was meant to be played. Go Cats.
