Porter Sr. was an assistant on the Missouri women's basketball staff and will join Romar's staff at Washington, where his younger son, 2018 power forward Jontay Porter, is already committed. To make the bond between the Porter family and Washington even stronger, it turns out that Romar is even Porter Jr.'s godfather. Oy. Porter Jr. and his EYBL teammate Trae Young have often talked about being a package deal, and Young has an offer from the Huskies, although Kentucky is considered his favorite. A few weeks back, they set the likelihood of playing together at the next level at around 85%, so take today's developments as you will. Personally, I think the package deal will fizzle because Calipari wants Young and I believe Young wants Kentucky more than Washington, which Porter Jr. wants more than Kentucky. (Got that?) But, who knows. Recruiting is a crazy thing. [Rivals]
