Amari Williams, Otega Oweh preview Kentucky-Duke

The first major matchup of the Mark Pope era is only one more sleep away. No. 19 Kentucky and No. 6 Duke will clash in Atlanta on Tuesday night as part of the Champions Classic.

To help get us ready for what should be an excellent matchup between two Blue Blood programs, we had a pair of Wildcats step up to the podium on Monday morning. Fifth-year center Amari Williams and junior guard Otega Oweh spoke with reporters earlier today about the contest against Duke and how they plan to defend the Blue Devils, specifically Cooper Flagg, the projected number one overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

It wasn’t all Duke talk though. Williams and Oweh also touched on Kentucky’s improved offensive rebounding against Bucknell, how Pope tries to get under their skin in practice, what it’s like to play alongside someone as fiery as Kerr Kriisa, and much more. Tuesday night’s game against Duke is set for 9:00 p.m. EST on ESPN.
