WATCH: Ashton Hagans greeted by "traitor" chants at Georgia
How did Georgia fans greet Ashton Hagans, the Kentucky guard once committed to the Bulldogs? Not kindly. According to Herald-Leader photographer Charles Bertram, a group of Georgia fans chanted “traitor” at Hagans during warm-ups:
.@KentuckyMBB Ashton Hagans was greeted by “traitor” chants as he and the team warmed up before playing Georgia in Athens. He had committed to Georgia before switching to UK. @KentuckySports @heraldleader @JerryTipton @johnclayiv pic.twitter.com/QDAmMOXpux

Hagans, a Cartersville, Georgia native, was all set to play for his home state Bulldogs before Mark Fox was fired. From there, he reopened his recruitment and chose Kentucky. Tom Crean said he has no hard feelings over Hagans’ decision, but clearly some Georgia fans do.
Thankfully, it sounds like Hagans is embracing his role as villain:
My spies on the ground in Athens, Ga. just told me Ashton Hagans came out of the lockerroom blowing kisses to the booing fans.
He gives no cares.
And I love it.😏🔥🏀@KentuckyMBB @H23Ash 👀@UKSportsNetwork pic.twitter.com/Aie11geNSp— Rex Chapman🏇🏼 (@RexChapman) January 15, 2019
Time to mess around a get a triple double, Ashton.
